A surf company and a barre fitness studio partnering up for a charity event: yeah, definitely not a normal thing to do. Well, first you have to come up with a somewhat catchy name that slightly works for the event and then you have to get everyone involved. The result, two successful events that did a lot to benefit the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons.
To take it back up a step, we've had a great relationship with Elements Fitness for the last few years. Andrea Fornarola, founder and CEO of Elements, runs an incredible business in East Hampton and NYC and has been a huge help/promoter of Hamptons Surf Company. She is also always down to think a little outside the box to come up with great event ideas that bring our companies together. Though we couldn't actually pull off filling the barre studio with sand for this go around, there is always next year.
Now that you're all caught up, let's recap this summer's events. We started with one Beach, Barre & Bark event in July. Proceeds from the entire day went to ARF and the total profit from our limited edition event t-shirts also went to benefit ARF's efforts. The first event was a success, but we wanted to make the second event in August even better. We got some reinforcements from the wonderful ladies over at Carissa's Breads, which really helped to put the event over the top and create a Newtown block party vibe. The volunteers from ARF, as always, were the stars of the show only shown up by their furry companions. ARF set up their table outside of Elements and took donations throughout the day. A portion of that day's profits for both Elements and Hamptons Surf Company went to benefit ARF once again.
This summer's involvement with ARF will definitely result in a furthered partnership over this next year and into next summer. We are very excited to continued to be a part of all the wonderful work that they do.
