SCULPTOR & PRINTMAKER
Born and raised splitting time between the concrete jungle and the surf, Gregory attended Washington and Lee University, graduating with a degree in sculpture and art history. He has recently finished his master's degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). While his summers are spent with family in New York, Gregory spends his winters as a high school art and art history teacher in Virginia Beach. Not only is Gregory a skilled artist whose talents encompass a variety of mediums ranging from surfboard design to printmaking, his patience for teenage angst is his most impressive quality.
MAR SURF EXCHANGE - FOUNDER & HEAD SHAPER/GLASSER
Buffalo, NY never felt like home because the sea was calling. While finishing his degree in Psychology with a focus in Counseling, Nick moved to Virginia Beach and got a hard-knocks degree in shaping and glassing custom surfboards in an effort to find the right equipment for the unique waves of the area. The new-found love for VB and board-building combined with a long-growing love of people led him to establishing the East Coasts first and only DIY surfboard factory. MAR Surf Exchange is founded on the pursuit of building a stronger surf culture and community by bringing people together through the art of board-building.
